Martha C. Deibert, 87, of Orwigsburg, passed away Feb. 22 at Orwigsburg Center-Genesis Healthcare.
Born in Auburn, Jan. 27, 1929, she was a daughter of the late William and Cora Yeich Noecker.
She was the widow of Clifford Steffy, Martin Guris and Homer M. Deibert.
She had worked as a caretaker for several people throughout her life, a foster mother for numerous children, a waitress and was employed by the Hamburg Center and the Hubler Shoe Factory, Auburn.
She was a member of the Higher Ground Worship Center.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by siblings, Samuel, James, Ruth, Moses, Paul and Rachel.
Martha is survived by a daughter, Deb Steffy and partner, Lois McNeil, Mohrsville; two sons, Cliff Steffy, Auburn, and Roger Steffy, husband of Lori, Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Erica, Doug and Jen; great-grandchildren, Addison, Grayson, Maddie and Elliot; siblings, Daniel, Thomas Noecker, Mary Bartolet and Elizabeth Frantz.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church, Reedsville, with the Rev. Mark Brooks officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in St. John's New Cemetery, Auburn. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to Alzheimer's Association , South Central PA Chapter, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
