Marvin A. Berger, 86, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday, June 29th at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill East, Pottsville.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, on September 16, 1937, a son of the late Walter Maynard "Barney" Berger & Sue (Matlock) Berger.

Marvin graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1955. Later, he'd serve the district as a member of the Schuylkill Haven School Board for many years.

Marvin was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Schuylkill Haven where he served on many committees.

Marvin was an avid car salesman for many years, working for several local dealerships. He retired from Prysmian Cable, formerly Cadillac Cable, in 2003.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Anne (Mull) Berger, sister, Suzanne LaScala, brother-in-law Nick LaScala, and step-daughter, Patti Vasura.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sandra K. Berger, Schuylkill Haven; daughter, Debra Myers (Mike), Maryland; son, Rick "Choc" Berger (Sandi), Schuylkill Haven; step-sons: Douglas Burnhauser (Ellen) and Craig Burnhauser (Heidi); step-daughter Kelly Ney (Alan); 12 grandchildren: Corie Mae Bell (Tommy), Kyle Myers (Kendra), Shane Berger, Calli Jean Berger, Haylee and Hanna Burnhauser, Michael Heintzleman (Wendy), Caleb, Cody, and Madison Vasura, Justine Ney (Josh), and Donald (Michelle); 5 great-grandchildren: Gage Heintzleman, Otto Myers, Beau, and Lottie-June Bell, Addy Roark, and a baby boy Myers due this September.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday July 6, at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Brian Reading officiating.  A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
