Mary P. (Pales) Hartinger

January 21, 1924 — March 23, 2015

Mary P. Hartinger, 91, formerly of Reading, PA and Casselberry, FL, passed away Monday, March 23rd, at Florida Presbyterian Homes, Lakeland, FL.

Born in Palmerton, January 21, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Chupkai Pales. She was wife of the late Russell G. Hartinger, who preceded her in death August 31, 1999.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary is also preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Hartinger and her sister, Hilda Miller.

Mary was employed for 30 years by Lucent, formerly AT&T and Western Electric.

While in Reading, PA, she was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Wyomissing Hills Garden Club and later the Winter Park Garden Club.

After retirement to Florida, she enjoyed her years of volunteering for Give Kids the World. She met and helped many children with terminal illnesses and their families. This was in her association with the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Mary is survived by two sons, Randall R. Hartinger, Shillington, PA and J. Keith Hartinger and his partner, Lynda Miller, Plant City, FL and two sisters, Lillian Heim and Nancy Symons.

Additionally, she is survived by her granddaughters: Jasa Hartinger, Alice Hartinger Shelly, Shannon DiLemme, Melissa Hartinger and Anne K. Hartinger, as well as seven great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1st, with Pastor Wayne Kaufman officiating. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow the service at Summer Hill Cemetery, Auburn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Give Kids The World Village, 210 South Bass Rd., Kissimee, FL 34746.
