Mary Louise Zimmerman, 72, of Landingville, passed away Monday, October 3rd, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Pottsville on August 21, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. & Lurda Irene (Webber) Roberts.
She was the widow of Ronald Charles Zimmerman, Sr. who preceded her in death in April of 1997.
Mary Lou was a graduate of Pottsville High School, Class of 1962.
Throughout her working career, she held many positions in banking including a mortgage loan officer for Miners & Community Banks.
Mary Lou loved attending both Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville, where she was a member, as well as Faith Reformed United Church of Christ, Landingville. She enjoyed singing in the choir at both churches with her wonderful choir friends.
She also served as treasurer for the Deaconess Fund at Trinity Lutheran Church and was a Diakon volunteer.
Mary Lou truly cherished her family and friends. Surviving her are a daughter, Diane R. Best & husband, David H., Landingville, and a son, Ronald C. Zimmerman, Jr., Port Carbon, as well as a granddaughter, Ashley M. Lane & husband, Jordan R., Bath, PA, and extended family and friends including; Timothy & Karla Best, Stephen Best, Matthew & Susie Seip, Nathan, Elisabeth, & Emmit Seip & Emma Best.
Mary Lou was an inspiration to everyone that knew and loved her. As a friend shared, “her faith in God has always been her compass in life. The compass, love, and faith will lead her home to our heavenly father.”
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted at Faith United Church of Christ, Landingville,at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 7th, with Rev. James Fidler officiating.
A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home.
An additional time for viewing will be held Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Interment will immediately follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park.
