Mary Beth (Stinnett) Houtz

Mary Beth Houtz, 55, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, November 25th, at home.

Born in East St. Louis, Illinois on September 13, 1966, she was a daughter of Eldon Stinnett, of Adamsdale, and the late Mary (Swanson) Stinnett. Mary Beth often reminisced of time spent traveling to visit family in Illinois.

She was the wife of Gregory A. Houtz, whom she married March 19, 1993.

Mary Beth was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, Class of 1984. She was employed by Avenues as a direct care worker.

In addition to her husband and father, she is also survived by her sons: Zachary A. Houtz and Jacob E. Houtz; siblings: Judy Drobnick (Randy), Schuylkill Haven, Myrna Lynn Reinert (Edward), Adamsdale, Jessica Rugh (Kevin), Schuylkill Haven, Michael Stinnett (Lynda), Schuylkill Haven and David Stinnett (Lynn), Palo Alto; as well as her mother-in-law, Edith Houtz, Schuylkill Haven, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Beth was a loving wife and mother, a beloved sister, and a friend to all. She was the biggest cheerleader for both of her boys. She proudly carried on the tradition of Christmas Eve celebrations at her home with cherished family.

In addition to her mother, Mary Beth was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Hannah.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, December 2nd at Welcome United Methodist Church in Landingville, with Pastor Timothy Christman and Pastor Doris McCoy co-officiating. A viewing will be held prior from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the church.
Interment will follow at Park Hill Cemetery, Landingville.
