Mary Ella Sweigert

Mary Ella "Sam" Sweigert, 78, passed away Monday, November 22nd, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill, E. Norwegian St., Pottsville.

Born in Schuylkill Haven on October 11, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Ella Sadie Messer, with whom she resided most of her life until she moved to Applewood Circle, Orwigsburg.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Summer Hill, Auburn.

Mary Ella loved to collect lighthouse and beach memorabilia, as well as crochet afghans. She bravely survived two brain tumor surgeries.

Mary Ella is survived by two daughters: Lisa Sweigert, companion of Bobby Hess, of New Ringgold; & Connie, wife of Paul Harig, of Summit Station; and a son, Larry Sweigert, of Enola. She is also survived by two grandchildren: Jennifer Lileck, & Sydnie Harig, a great-grandson, Tobias Lileck, and a sister, Fran Bedway, of Schuylkill Haven.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 29th at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc. in Schuylkill Haven with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.
