Mary Frances Peiffer

Mary Frances Peiffer, 82, of Auburn, passed away Sunday, September 22nd, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in Pottsville on December 20, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Guy & Sarah (Mengle) Sowers.

Mary Frances was the widow of James L. "Jimmy" Peiffer to whom she was married 62 years.

After graduation from Blue Mountain High School, Mary Frances was employed as a seamstress for most of her life.

Mary Frances was a very active member of St. John's Church, Auburn and the Orwigsburg Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her son, Timothy Peiffer, husband of Gretchen, of Dover, PA; two sisters, Dorothy Kerschner and Kathleen Baver; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Frances is also preceded in death by her grandson, Zachary Peiffer.

A viewing will be held from 4-6 PM on Sunday, September 29th at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven. Order of Eastern Star ceremony will be conducted during the viewing.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 30th, at St. John's Church in Auburn with Pastor Walter Breiner officiating. An additional time for viewing will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.

Interment will follow at Saint John's New Cemetery, Auburn.
