Michael H. "Mickey" Oler, Jr., 83, of Branchdale, passed away Sunday surrounded by his family at his home.
Born in Mar Lin, April 20, 1933, he was a son of the late Michael Oler Sr. and Elizabeth Bondura Oler.
He was the loving husband of Margaret A. "Toot" Jester Oler.
Michael was a graduate of Pottsville High School, Class of 1950.
He was of the Catholic faith and served in the Army.
Michael was formerly employed by Sears as a service technician for many years until retiring. However, his true passion was mechanics, as he was very talented and could fix anything but a broken heart. His skills and strong work ethic gave him a huge following of loyal customers that has lasted for many years. Michael enjoyed the outdoors and in doing so, traveled cross country on his beloved "Harley." He also enjoyed and spent many years riding dirt bike with his family and great circle of friends. He has been a lot of places, made a lot of great memories and, oh, the stories he would tell.
In addition to his parents, Michael was also preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Brentari.
In addition to his wife, Michael is also survived by three daughters, Debbie Dodd, Edgewood, Md., Gina Warhola and her husband, David, Branchdale, and Michele Terway and her husband, Timothy, Pottsville; a niece, who was like a daughter, JoAnn "Cirri" Grainger, Millersville, Md.; grandchildren, Dina Dodd, Chad Dodd, Malia Zavoyna, Christina Warhola and Timothy Terway; great-grandchildren, Chad Dodd II and Bryan M. Zavoyna; a sister, Vera Pohedra, Falls Church, Va..; two brothers, John Oler, Levittown, and Joe Oler, Mar Lin.
A visitation will be held at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, 26 Chestnut St., Cressona, on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with certified celebrant, Rebecca Devlin officiating.
Friends and family are welcome to gather at the Muddy Creek Sportsman Club, Flicker Rd., Branchdale, PA 17923, following the service.
Interment will be private at the family's convenience.
