Nadine F. Oswald, 95, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday at The Gardens at York Terrace.
Born in Cressona, Sept. 4, 1922, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Lettie Romberger Frehafer.
She was the loving wife of the late Ray William Oswald. The couple married in September 1947.
Nadine was a graduate of Cressona High School. She also attended Reading Business School, H&R Block and Alvernia College, acheiving a degree in psychology. Nadine loved to learn.
She was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven, where she served on the altar guild. Nadine also belonged to the senior women's club and taught night classes for students to learn English as a second language.
She worked as the manager's secretary in a Reading insurance company's office; she was the office manager to attorney Ralph Bashore and was Uzal H. Martz's office manager and in charge of human resources at The Pottsville Republican & Evening Herald.
Nadine is survived by her brother, Lyle Frehafer and his wife, Jane, Cressona; sister-in-law, Joyce Freed and her husband, Lee, Orwigsburg; nieces and nephews.
Services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to Jerusalem Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 252 Dock St., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
