Nancy L. Legear, 82, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday at York Terrace-Golden Living Center, Pottsville.
Nancy was born in Pottsville, April 8, 1933, a daughter of the late Martin L. Ney and Robert F. and Julia T. Yarrish Sterner.
She was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1951, and had served in the Air Force.
Nancy was formerly employed by York Terrace-Golden Living Center as a receptionist until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica M. Legear; a brother, Robert F. Sterner Jr.
Nancy is survived by a daughter, Diana McGoey, wife of Hank, Schuylkill Haven; a son, Douglas Legear, husband of Dayan, Greensboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Harry F. McGoey, Ryan Hunt, Douglas Legear Jr., Scott, Jeffrey and Crystal Legear; brother, David Sterner, husband of Terri, Schuylkill Haven; a nephew, Jordan Sterner.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A viewing for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday. Interment will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, immediately following the service.
