Paul W. Eckert

Paul W. Eckert, 94, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Wednesday at his daughter's residence.

Born in Auburn, Sept. 28, 1922, he was a son of the late Ralph and Gertrude Fritz Eckert.

He was the widower of Ruth V. Bowen Eckert, who passed away in 2014.

He served in the Army in World War II. Paul was formerly employed by Scott Millwork.

Paul belonged to Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill Hose Company, Landingville Hose Company, and Roedersville Game & Fish.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Janet Eckert; brothers, Norman, Marvin and Carl Eckert; sisters, Pearl Donton and May Seigfried.

Paul is survived by a son, David Eckert, husband of Joanne, New Ringgold; daughters, Helen Moyer, widow of Richard, Schuylkill Haven, and Leslie Eckert, Orwigsburg; grandchildren, Richard Eckert, Ryan Eckert, Jennie Heiser, Sarah Wychunas and Christian Dzurek; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A procession will leave the funeral home promptly at 11:30 a.m. for interment with military honors at 12:30 p.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
