Paul J. "PJ" Schwartz Jr., 82, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday at his residence.
Born in Friedensburg, May 27, 1932, he was a son of the late Paul J. Sr. and Vera Viola Lutz Schwartz.
He was the husband of Jeannette H. Schwartz, to whom he was married for 61 years.
He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Friedensburg.
PJ served in the Army as an SP4 and was a graduate of Cressona High School.
He retired from Eastern pre-stressed concrete corporation. After retirement, he was employed by Agway and Haven Line Industries as a driver.
Paul was preceded in death by a sister, Ina Luckenbill.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Kenneth "Fred" Schwartz and fiancee, Tina Houck, Schuylkill Haven, and Scott A. Schwartz and wife, Lisa, Auburn; grandchildren, Wendy Metcalf and Donald Bohn III; a sister, Linda Schwartz, Schuylkill Haven; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with Certified Celebrant Rebecca Deatrich officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to Life Choice Hospice, 10 Zion Church Road, Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
