Phyllis A. (Kerschner) Ebling

July 24, 1932 — March 4, 2017

Phyllis A. Ebling, 84, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday at home.

Born in Pine Grove, July 24, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Lydia Heister Kerschner.

She was the widow of James B. Ebling Jr., who passed away Feb. 2, 1995.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Carol Heckman.

Phyllis was a member of First United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven, where she taught Sunday school for more than 20 years. She also volunteered as a Boy Scout Troop Den Mother.

Phyllis had been employed by Argo Knitting Mill.

She is survived by two daughters, Trudy Guldin and husband, Glenn, Schuylkill Haven, and Roseann Gibson and husband, Robert, Lake Wynonah; two sons, Gary Ebling and wife, Gloria, Auburn, and Allen Ebling and life partner, Shonna Seddon, Orwigsburg; six granddaughters, Brenda Ebling, Stacy Ebling, Megan Gibson, Cassondra Mullins, Paige Dillman and Piper Ebling.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be conducted at First United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven, at 10:30 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Shawn VanDyke officiating. A visitation will be held Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be privately held. The family requests donations be sent to First United Church of Christ Compassion Fund, 110 Route 61 South, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972, Hillside SPCA, P.O.
