Richard A. Lyons, 67, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday at Lehigh Valley Medical Center-Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born in Pottsville, March 30, 1947, he was a son of the late Harry and Edna Lord Lyons.
He was the husband of Carol E. Reed Lyons, with whom he would have celebrated 43 years of marriage on March 11.
A 1966 graduate of Pottsville High School, he was employed as a computer programer for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, retiring in 2002.
He served in the Navy.
Richard is preceded in death by a son, Eric A. Lyons; and four brothers, Harry, Ronald, Lyle and George Lyons.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by a daughter, Amy R., wife of Kyle Evans, Warminster; a son, Scott Lyons, Schuylkill Haven; three grandchildren, Bryce, Chase and Brooke Evans; a brother, Ralph, husband of Patricia Lyons, Raleigh, N.C.; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. David Rowe officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park.
