Rita M. Huy, 88, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday at Phoebe Home, Allentown, where she had been a resident.
Born in Philadelphia, Sept. 29, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Rose Valecci Garzone.
She was the widow of William J. Huy Sr., who passed away in 2002.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rita was preceded in death by brothers, James, Puri, Frederick and Lawrence Garzone; sister, Mary Carducci.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.
Rita is survived by two sons, William J. Huy Jr., husband of Bernadette, Orwigsburg, and Dr. Louis Huy, husband of Anne Beth, Doylestown; granddaughter, Alex Huy; grandsons, Liam and Owen Huy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. March 11 at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, with Monsignor Edward S. Zemanik officiating. A viewing will be held in the church's chapel from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. prior to Mass on March 11. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.
