Rita M. Karnoval, 65, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 8th, at her home and surrounded by family.
Born September 1, 1957 in Pottsville to Robert and Vivian (Beretsky) McDonald, she grew up in Coal Castle in the Heckschersville Valley.
A loving wife and mother, Rita was married nearly 45 years to Stephen J. Karnoval and is also survived by her beloved son, Jared S. Karnoval. A beautiful soul, she always put others before herself and loved her family more than anything.
As a member of St. Patrick's RC Church, Pottsville, and a 1975 graduate of Nativity BVM High School, Rita was a faithful and devoted Christian and Catholic.
Rita began her professional career after high school with WPPA radio, Pottsville. From there, she worked for multiple residential and commercial building firms, including Forest Hills, Inc. and, most recently, QEI Construction.
Always happiest at home, Rita was a prize-winning artist who used her talent to craft many beautiful and unique designs. In addition, she was an avid gardener who spent her springs and summers carefully tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.
Rita is survived by her husband and son, as well as her siblings, brother Robert McDonald, husband of Cindy, and sisters Marie Lewis, wife of William and Carol Graver, wife of Mark, along with sister-in-law, Deb Shipe, wife of Mike, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rita was also preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Helen McDonald.
One of Rita's other joys in life was owning and caring for her cherished pets, her dogs most of all. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her memory to Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, P.O. Box 332, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
