Robert Earl Beck

Robert Earl Beck, 86, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Wednesday, January 11th, at Providence Place Retirement Community, Pottsville.

Born in Beckville, north of Cressona, on December 2, 1936, he was the son of the late Myrtle M. (Miller) and J. Edward Beck.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brother, William C. Beck.

After graduation from Cressona High School in 1954, he served 3 years in the U.S Army as a Morse code radio operator. He also qualified as an expert rifleman and shot in competition with the 7th Army Rifle Teams.

After discharge, he met and married the love of his life, Marilyn Ann Ney, who passed away December 6, 2016. They had 58 years of a happy marriage.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Auburn.

Robert was a carpenter and retired from the Reading Hospital Engineering Department.

Robert is survived by two wonderful children, Lori, wife of Bret Keiper of Danielsville, a son, Keith, husband of Margaret Beck of Mechanicsburg; four granddaughters, Kaitlin (Keiper) Swanson, Megan (Keiper) Nace, Paige and Bryn Beck; two great grandchildren, Julianna and Rhett Swanson; and a brother, John E., husband of Carrie Beck of Hamburg.

He will lie in rest aside of his beloved Marilyn.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 17 at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with Rev. Walter Breiner officiating. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until the time of services.

Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
