Robert L. Gerber

Robert L. Gerber, 88, formerly of Friedensburg, passed away Saturday, October 2nd, at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, where he had been a resident.


​Born on the family farm in Wayne Township, on May 23, 1933, a son of the late Anne (Brown) and George Gerber.


He was the widower of Raydelle I. (Knoll) Gerber, who passed away on August 25, 2021.


Robert was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Pottsville.


He retired from the Union Knitting Mill, Schuylkill Haven. He was a wonderful husband and father. He also shared the Bibles message of God’s Kingdom to his neighbors and friends from door to door.


Robert is survived by two daughters, Irma Lee Meade, of TN; & Priscilla Mowery, of FL; and two sons, Tony Gerber, of Hegins; & Eugene Gerber, of Lewistown. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and siblings Richard Gerber, Pottsville, Joseph Gerber, Hatfield and Carl Gerber, Cressona.


In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his siblings Lewis Gerber, Erma Beuchler, and Clarence Gerber.


A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted via Zoom on Sunday October 17th. The service will be officiated by Kent Steinmetz an Elder of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Pottsville. Please contact Robert's family if you would like the Zoom link.
