Robert J. "Clutch" Mabry, 69, of Pine Grove, passed away Saturday surrounded by family, friends and hospice caregivers.
Born in Forestville, Oct. 16, 1947, he was a son of the late Paul and Margaret Chernosky Mabry.
He was the husband of Alice "Pinky" McGlaughin Mabry, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.
Robert was a graduate of Cass Township High School, Class of 1965, and had been employed by Guilford Mills, Pine Grove, for 45 years.
He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Friedensburg, and also belonged to North End Hose Company, Pine Grove, and Roedersville Gun Club.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by two sons, Robert J. Mabry, Sr. and companion, Linda, Reading, and Michael Mabry Jr. and wife, Shannon, Pine Grove; a daughter, Allison Englert and husband, John, York Haven; grandchildren, Emily and Matthew Mabry, Bailey Shadle, Michael Mabry Jr., Alex Osborne, Brodie, Camron, Delanie and MaClane Englert, Alexis Downs, and Pfc. Blake and Cole Handling; two great-grandchildren, Dayton and Nash; three sisters, Evelyn Webber, Myerstown, Marlene Harris, Forestville, and Bridget Mabry, Forestville; three brothers, Paul Mabry and wife, Sharon, Pottsville, James Mabry and wife, Cathy, Pine Grove, and Gary Mabry and wife, Denise, Jonestown; nieces and nephews; loyal dog, Bella.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Friedensburg, with Pastor Peggy Sue Pfeffer officiating. A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church. Interment at the church cemetery, St. John's Union, will immediately follow the service.
