Robert J. Zechman

Robert  J.  Zechman, 91, of New Ringgold, passed away Sunday, January 15th, at St. Luke's Hospital Miner's Campus, Coaldale, PA.

Born in Seltzer City, PA on May 16, 1931, he was the son of the late Vera (Drye) and LeRoy Zechman.

Robert was the husband of Darlene M. (Reedy) Zechman. They celebrated there 50th wedding anniversary last May.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters Caroline Weidenheimer, Betty Fey, Melvia Haas, Gloria Kistler, Georgine Bolich, Susan Margavage, and baby brother Charles.

After graduating from Cressona High School, Robert was employed with Klepchick Bros. Lumber Co. of Cressona, and later, Cressona Agway.

Robert attended St. John's Reformed Church, was a church delegate, a choir member, volunteered at the Red Cross, the food pantry, and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by several nieces and nephews and his Russian Godchild, Anatoly Dermo.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 20th at Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona with Rev. Matt Kenitzer officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 19th from 6 - 8 PM also Friday from 9:30 until the time of services, all from Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona.

At the family's request, memorial donations may be forwarded to the American Red Cross, 2801 Liberty Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
