Ruby Jean Powanda, 100, of Blandon, PA, passed away Thursday, April 8th, at Orwigsburg Center, Orwigsburg.
Born in South Hampton, England on April 16, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Frederick W. & Victoria (Bartlett) Eaves.
She was the widow of Lester Wilson, Sr., Charles Kelly, and John Powanda.
Ruby was a member of Holy Apostles Church, St. Clair, where she served on altar guild and Good Shepherd Guild.
Ruby was a member of the St. Clair Senior Citizens and served as secretary for 20 years.She also did volunteer work at Retired Senior Citizens, and York Terrace.
She had been previously employed as an LPN.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she is also preceded in death by two sons: Lester Wilson, Jr., & David Wilson, and brothers: Rodney J. Eaves, & Frederick "Gordie" Eaves.
Ruby is survived by three daughters: Penelope Liebhaber, of North Carolina; Victoria Ficht, of South Carolina; & Anna Chiuchiolo, of Florida; five sons: Robin Wilson, of Long Island, NY; Richard Wilson, of South Carolina; Frederick Wilson; & Christopher Wilson, both of Pennsylvania; Peter Wilson, Virginia, 29 grandchildren, 75 plus great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be conducted at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville, at the convenience of the family.
