Salvatore M. Stramara, 82, of Orwigsburg, passed away Thursday at the Laurel Center, Hamburg.
Born in Schuylkill Haven, July 20, 1933, he was a son of the late Sam and Verna Rovnak Stramara.
He was the husband of Joan L. Kutz Stramara.
A graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1950, he was the owner and operator of Mr. S. Auto Sales.
Sal was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, where he served as a former lector and a member of the building committee.
Sal was past president and chairman of the Pennsylvania Industrial Automotive Dealers Association, past president of the Blue Mountain K Lions Club, and a former Scout Master and Cub Scout Leader.
He was an avid golfer.
In addition to his parents, Sal was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Richards and Pauline Mortel; and two brothers, Charles and Daniel Stramara.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Jana Stramara, Orwigsburg, Jacqueline Patton, wife of Kelly, Reading, and Jeanine Henry, Orwigsburg; two sons, Michael Stramara, husband of Kim, Orwigsburg, and David Stramara, husband of Bobbi, Deer Lake; grandchildren, Kyle, Nicholas, Max, Tessa, Haley, Jessica and Dallas; three brothers, Vincent Stramara, husband of Doris, California, Sam Stramara, Schuylkill Haven, and John Stramara, husband of Rita, Orwigsburg; a sister, Veronica Joulwan, wife of Tom, Schuylkill Haven.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, with Monsignor Thomas Hoban officiating. A visitation will be held in the church chapel from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. At the family's request, memorial donations in Sal's memory may be sent to Shriner's Memorial Hospital for Children, Attention: Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
