Shirley Mae (Silfies) Fidler

Shirley Mae Fidler, 85, of Wayne Township, passed away Monday, February 28th, at home.

Born in Pottsville on May 21, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Guy & Marie (Palsgrove) Silfies.

She recently celebrated 62 years of marriage to her husband, Arlin Lloyd Fidler.

Shirley attended Palo Alto schools.

She had worked for S. S. Weis clothing store as a retail clerk. Most of her life she was a homemaker, and babysat several children in her home.

In addition to her husband, Shirley is also survived by two daughters: Lori Ann Fidler, at home; & Karen, wife of Daniel Metzger, of New Ringgold; and a son, Brian Fidler, of Tamaqua. She is also survived by grandchildren: Christopher Metzger, Caitlin Hinkley, Kelsey Dermo, & Samantha Fidler, great-grandchildren: Cortney, Peige, & Natasha Dermo, a sister, Ellen Witmer, of Lusby, MD, and a brother, Wilmer, husband of Nancy Silfies, of Annville.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother, Harold Silfies, Sr.

An evening viewing will be held Monday, March 7th from 5-7 PM at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, March 8th at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven with Pastor Marge Kropp officiating. An additional time for viewing will be held Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at St. John's Union Cemetery, Friedensburg.
