Thomas Earl Geary, 77, of Southport, FL, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday, May 15th, at his residence in Florida.
Born in Pottsville, on May 25, 1944, a son of the late Anna Miller and Earl Geary.
Tom was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School. He was employed by Merrick Industries, Inc. as a mechanical designer. Following his passion for cars, he opened Salvagion, an auto dealership where he would restore broken down vehicles. He would then sell them to people in need for a very minimal cost. This was his ministry for many years.
Tom had a passion for music, was a talented drummer and played with several groups throughout his life.
Tom is survived by his sons Thomas E. Geary, Jr. & wife Jean, Bradenton, FL and Stephen Geary & wife Nena, Lake Wynonah; grandchildren Victoria Griffin & husband Forest, Lauren Geary and Ian Hornberger; sisters Beth Pauly & husband John, Schuylkill Haven and Jane Geary, Sunland, CA; and a brother Mark Brown & wife, Karen, Texas.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 on Monday, May 23rd at Geschwindt Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc. in Schuylkill Haven with Pastor Jim Fidler. A viewing will be held prior from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.
