Velma D. "Penny" Brenneman, 89, formerly of Cressona, passed away Saturday at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident.
Born in Petersburg, W. Va., Feb. 20, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Glenn and Ruby Sites Getz.
She was the widow of Harold A. Brenneman Sr., who preceded her in death May 8, 1999.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Velma was formerly employed as a floor lady for The Walk-In Shoe Co., manager at the Cressona Aluminum Credit Union, and a teller at the Hidden River Credit Union.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra L. Grigas, Pottsville, and Phyllis K. Hoppes, Coco Beach, Fla.; three sons, Harold A. Brenneman Jr., Harrisburg, John D. Brenneman, York, and Douglas E. Brenneman, Summit Station; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Willard Getz, Arkansas.
Interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at the family's convenience.
