Virginia (Charowsky) Hoover

September 8, 1943 — April 13, 2015

Virginia Hoover, 71, of Pottsville, passed away Monday at Providence Place, Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, Sept. 8, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Vladimir "Walter" and Anna Bobrick Charowsky.

She was a graduate of Cass Township High School and Penn State University, and was formerly employed by Blue Mountain High School as a teacher.

Virginia is survived by a son, Mark Hoover and wife, Becky, Friedensburg; two sisters, Cecilia Caulfield, Harper Ferry, Md., and Patricia Sharockman and husband, Jack, Fairfax, Va.; three brothers, Walter Charowsky, Newark, Del., Myron Charowsky and wife, Dolly, Minersville, and Charles Charowsky and wife, Dana, New York City; three grandchildren, Allison, Josh and McKinley Hoover; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. April 25 at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, 26 Chestnut St., Cressona. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on April 25. Interment will follow the service in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery, Minersville.
