Walter M. Lengel, 85, of Auburn, passed away Friday at his residence.
Born in Pottsville, Nov. 21, 1930, he was a son of the late Bertha and Roy Lengel.
He was the husband of Shirley M. Wessner Lengel.
He was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County Wood Carvers and the former Weekend Wheeler's Camping Club.
He served in the Army and was a graduate of Pottsville High School.
He was formerly employed by United Metal Co. as a fork lift operator.
Walter is preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Murray Lengel; brothers, Roy and Harold; a sister, Mary Seltzer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Susan Scott, wife of James, Schuylkill Haven, and Patricia Weiss, wife of Gerald F. Weiss Jr., Lake Wynonah; step-children, Ronald J. Bromwell, husband of Kathy, Kathleen Edwards and Jeffrey Bromwell, all of Schuylkill Haven; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. David Rowe officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the church.
