Wayne H. Bertram, 91, of Landingville, passed away Tuesday, November 4th, at Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville.
Born in Strausstown, PA on January 1, 1923, he was a son of the late James & Sadie (Hower)Bertram.
He was the widower of Verna (Reedy) Bertram, who preceded him in death August 4, 2014.
Wayne was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Landingville, as well as Mt. Pleasant Fire Company, Rehrersburg Fire Company, Bethel Fire Company, and Community Fire Company of Landingville .
He served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the Philippines.
Wayne was last employed by the former Walk-in Shoe Company, Schuylkill Haven, after 30 years of service, retiring in 1984.
He is survived by a sister in law Betty K. Schaeffer, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10:30 am with Pastor James Fidler officiating.
Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
