Wilbur D. Tucker, 96, formerly of Mount Carbon, and longtime resident of Providence Place, passed away Sunday at Seton Manor Nursing Home, Orwigsburg.
Born in Pottsville, June 1, 1919, he was a son of the late D. Wilbur Sr. and Julia Goudge Tucker.
He was the widower of Rita F. Yoder Tucker, who passed away in 1996.
Wilbur was a member of First United Methodist Church, Pottsville, and sang in the choir for many years.
He was formerly employed by Reading Anthracite Co., Pottsville, as a shipping clerk.
Wilbur is survived by two sons, David W. Tucker Sr. and his wife, Mary, Alexandria, Va., and Robert J. Tucker, Bethlehem; grandchildren, David W. Tucker Jr. and his wife, Elisa, Ashburn, Va., and Debra Tucker Purrington, Alexandria, Va.; a great-granddaughter, Amanda Purrington.
The family would like to thank the Providence Place community and the staff of Seton Manor for their care and kindness to our Pop.
