William Allen Ebling, 94, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday at his residence surrounded by family.
Born in Pottsville, Nov. 15, 1921, he was a son of the late William Edward and Flora Ann Miller Ebling.
He was the widower of Helen Marie Rolshausen Ebling, who passed away in 2003.
He was a graduate of Pottsville High School, Class of 1939, and worked as a machinist for 70 years, having been employed by Economy Garage & Machine Shop, Pottsville.
He served in the 15th Army Air Corps.
Bill was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven, and was a former member of The Belvedere Drum & Bugle Corps. and Alumni Corps.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was also preceded in death by two brothers, Irvin and Joe Ebling; a sister, Betty Mullins.
Bill is survived by four sons, William Ebling and wife, Susan, Pottsville, Lynn Ebling and wife, Pamela, and Ronald Ebling and fiancee, Jill Kelly, both of Schuylkill Haven, and Kenny Ebling and his companion, Betty Trout, Pine Grove; a daughter, Marie Ebling, Lake Wynonah. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Schneider, Ohio, and Joyce Ebling, Pottsville; two brothers, Harold Ebling, Cressona, and Ray Ebling, Florida.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 22 at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Dec. 22 at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to The Belvedere's Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps., 21 Earl Ave., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
