William J. Kaler

William J. Kaler, 90, of Orwigsburg, died peacefully Tuesday at home.

Born in Williamstown, Sept. 12, 1926, he was a son of the late Paul Kaler and Hazel Adams Kaler Liddick. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Kaler, and two sisters, Louise Madenford and Dora Jean Miller.

He was the husband of Betty L. Heiser Kaler to whom he was married for 60 years in June 2016.

Bill served in the Navy in World War II.

He retired as a manager with ARA Vending, Reading.

Bill was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orwigsburg. He was also a member of Schuylkill Lodge 138 F&AM Orwigsburg, Reading Consistory, Rajah Shrine, where he also was on the stage crew for the numerous degrees.

Bill is survived by a sister, Kay Hazzard, New Bloomfield.

Services are private at the convenience of family at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Lee Diefenderfer officiating. Family request donations to American Heart Association  , 968 Postal Road, Suite 110, Allentown, PA 18109. Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, is in charge of arrangements with cremation provided by Riverside Cremation Services LLC, Schuylkill Haven.
