William H. "Kody" Kodash

February 24, 1945 — October 29, 2014

William H. "Kody" Kodash, 69, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Wednesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.

Born Feb. 24, 1945, he was a son of the late John and Elizabeth Whalen Kodash.

He was the husband of Connie J. Bachert Kodash, Auburn.

Kody attended Patterson High School and was formerly employed by Reneer Films, Auburn.

He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He received many decorations, including the Army Commendation medal, Good Conduct medal, National Defense Service medal, 1st Class MSL badge, Vietnam Service medal, Vietnam Campaign medal W/60 device, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry W/Palm and the Expert Badge W/Rifle Bar M-16.

Kody was a member of Strausstown Rod & Gun Club, Auburn VFW Post 29, Rainbow Hose Company No. 1, Shartlesville County Fire Company and Roedersville Game & Fish.

He was preceded in death by a son, William "Little Billy" Kodash; and a nephew, Eric Kodash.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a brother, David Kodash and wife, Barbara, Blandon; and a niece, Lori Kodash.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home, 26 Chestnut St., Cressona, with certified celebrant Rebecca L. Deatrich officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A procession will leave at 1:30 p.m. from Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to Ruth Steinert SPCA, P.O. Box 332, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
