William M. Owens, 66, of Wayne Township, passed away Friday, July 3rd, at home with his nephew Shawn by his side.
Born in Pottsville, on July 23, 1948, he was a son of the late Francis J. & Helen D. (Leiby) Owens.
He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, and the Beckvill Gun Club.
Bill was a life member of Roedersville Gun Club, Cressona Number 1, Rainbow Hose Company No. 1, Pine Grove VFW, and the Pine Grove Legion Post #374.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 4 during the Vietnam War from February 18, 1969 to September 21, 1970.
Bill had been employed as a truck driver.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Lee Owens.
Bill is survived by a sister, Patricia Wanchalk, Schuylkill Haven, nieces and nephews, and best friends; Frank Zurat and Joann Shupp.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, 26 Chestnut Street, Cressona, on Thursday, at 11:00 a.m.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Thursday.
Interment with military honors will follow the service at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
