When planning a cremation, one of the first, most important and irreversible decisions you will be making is where and how the actual cremation will take place. Whether it’s for peace of mind, or in order to help achieve a better sense of closure, many people not only want to see where the cremation will take place, but also take part in a final tribute or ceremony at the crematory.
Unlike most Schuylkill County funeral homes, we personally handle everything and that’s why we know whose ashes are in the urn. From the transfer into our care, to the pre-cremation preparation, the actual cremation process itself, the retrieval and processing of the cremated remains and returning the ashes to you, your loved one never leaves our care.
Our affordable package pricing makes it easy to understand. We have no hidden charges. Embalming is not required because we offer on-site refrigeration.
Our exterior, interior and operational standards are consistent. No jobbers. No middlemen. Your loved one never leaves our care. Our cremation facility is under 24 hour video surveillance for your peace of mind.
Because our crematory is located at our funeral home in Schuylkill Haven, your loved one won’t be transported to a third party facility crematorium for cremation.
Our crematory is used for the families that we serve. Our facilities are always open for your inspection upon request. Please contact us to schedule a tour.
We use a ten step identification process to ensure the integrity of a loved one’s remains. We own a private crematorium and contracting with us means that your loved one never leaves our care.
Our crematory follows the strict guidelines established by the
Cremation Association of North America. We follow the strict guidelines of PA Dept. of Environmental Protection. Our technicians are individually trained and certified.
Our crematorium in Schuylkill Haven has unique guidelines regarding familial participation in the cremation process. We offer witness cremation as a service, allowing a small number of family members to watch the initial stages of the cremation process. We can accommodate families wishing to have a certain degree of participation in the cremation process . If you're interested in witnessing or participating in your loved one's cremation, please speak with one of our funeral directors.
While a casket is not required for cremation, our crematorium will need a combustible container to hold the body during the process. These containers are included in al of our cremation package plans.
It depends on the weight of the individual. For an average-sized adult, the cremation process takes from two to three hours at normal operating temperature between 1,500 degrees F and 2,000 degrees F. After processing, the cremated remains or ashes as most people call them, are placed in an urn or other container suitable for memorialization, transport or burial. Depending upon the size of the deceased’s skeletal makeup, there are normally three to eight pounds of cremated remains or ashes.
We want you to know that no matter your reasons for choosing cremation, we're here to help you explore your options. When you're ready, Contact Us to set an appointment or simply drop by our office. You can also send us an email via our online contact us form.
